Help raise money for the Yosemite Songwriting Retreat scholarship fund while enjoying an enchanting evening of music with YSR alumna and American Idol contestant Effie Passero. Our venue is the beautiful Sierra Meadows, between Mariposa and Oakhurst. Dinner by Matsumoto Samurai’s Kitchen and drinks will be available at 6:00 with an open mic at 6:30. Main show at 7:30.

Effie Passero is a 26 year old singer/songwriter, who you might have caught very recently on American Idol. She has been singing and playing her piano since 5 years old and has no intention of stopping any time soon. A classically trained singer, Effie decided to change her path into songwriting and has delved into all sorts of genres including soul, blues, jazz, EDM, and pop. She was lucky enough to be a backup vocalist for Leonard Cohen’s last album, and after that opportunity, has loved session work and wants to make a career out of that by one day working for Disney in voice over and session singing. She is currently working on an album called “Better” and cannot wait to share her original music with everyone, hoping to release it in the early fall.

This event will also include and open mic and performances by retreat coordinators Adam Burns Music and Gail Dreifus. The scholarship fund enables us to extend all of the magical experiences that the retreat provides to artists who would not otherwise be able to afford it.
